I’ve tried blogging before, I really sucked at it.
There were good intentions at the start but it never took off for me.
The think the real crux of the reason was, I had nothing interesting enough to say, let alone to actually spend time writing down.

I don’t really know if this site is going to be a blog or just some words and photos.
Technically this website is about my mountain biking adventures, it’s titled ‘fatboy.fit’ because that’s what I’m currently riding in 2019 and i think I’m pretty fit.
I do have a story to tell how I ended up on a fat boy and intended to tell it on this site. And by fatboy, it’s really a Fat Bike, Specialized calls its Fat Bike range, fat boy, so fat boy works for me as far as I’m concerned.

In my quest to do some research before I bought a Fat Boy. I noticed that I was about 4 years to late. The Fat bike wave looks to have been and gone. I started reading ‘old’ articles about how great they were, would be better if shocks were added, had this and that etc. Then the reviews died off and newer ‘normal’ bikes stayed mainstream, Fat Bikes faded into the background.

I was particularly interested in whether a Fat Bike could become my only bike. I only found two Articles on the net that said this was possible.
The Bike Industry people I knew, kept telling me that you have to have more than one bike.

I also found it hard to buy a new Fat Bike. I am heavily biased towards a Specialized brand, they seemed to stop making them, although in the states in 2019 they were still being listed. But we couldn’t buy one in to NZ.
The local Bike store (3 shops down from where I sit and type all day) are pretty bloody good to me. The Green Fat Boy you see pictured on this site, actually belongs to the bike store owner, who loaned it to me while I sorted out my next bike.
